I'm an elementary school teacher, working full time, so at this point painting is still a hobby for me.
I've always enjoyed my painting time, but with a young family, it got set aside for awhile.

I've taken a few general art courses but not watercolour lessons. However, I've always preferred to use watercolours, as they were so easy to manage at home, and clean up, with children around.

Usually I paint subjects that have personal interest for me, such as places I've visited, or people I know. I really enjoy capturing the tiny details when working on animals, such as eyes and fur.

I'd like to spend some time just studying and painting cats, as they are great subjects, full of grace and yet mysterious. Who knows what a cat is thinking? A scene that is pleasant to paint is all the better with a cat in it somewhere.

I've had a great time doing a few commissions for friends and would like to do more. As I usually travel with my camera, and work from my own photos, I'll be continuing to add to my portfolio.
